First formed in October 1991 by founding member and lead vocalist John Backer, Australian Played has earned the reputation as being one of Sydney's hardest working tribute/cover bands.

After numerous line up changes, a move from Adelaide to Sydney in 1995 and the occassional challenge from rival Australian Music shows, Australian Played has endured all and like the music they play, stood the test of time.

The bands' current line-up was first formed in December '99 and has remained for the most, unchanged despite taking a 2 year break in July 2001 and again in 2004.

When you book Australian Played, you get Australian Played! We will never accept a booking in the knowledge that even one our members is unavailable to play on that date and hire a "fill in" player, just to get the gig. This ensures that what you pay for is what you get, Sydneys' Original OZ Music Tribute. After all, there's no substitute for Quality!
